Rearrangements that involve BCR or TCR loci, (e.g. IGH, IGK, or IGL) often juxtaposes regulatory regions upstream of partner promoter regions which do not result in chimeric transcripts, instead leading to aberrant expression of the partner gene (e.g., MYC, BCL2, or BCL6). Fusions that do not produce chimeric transcripts cannot be detected using the RNA Fusion pipeline. To address this, we target the BCR and TCR, known partner genes for both fusion detection and relative RNA expression analysis.
